The Production of Life

What Does Truth Do?

It Is The "Bread of Life"

John 6:48 I am that bread of life.

Truth is the only thing that will feed the spirit of a human being. This is why Jesus, who identifies Himself as truth, says that He is the bread of life. He also says that His flesh will be eaten and His blood will be drank(John 6:53). As truth, the word of God identified as Jesus, is taken in by us, it seeds in our spirit, ultimately resulting in expressions of spiritual growth and life. Hence "the bread of life." Evidence of this life is seen through our actions and by the words we speak. Other biblical "action" words that have their source in truth and that are expressed in a relationship of life are, wisdom and faith (Proverbs 3:18, 1 Timothy 6:12).

It Is "The Power of His Resurrection"

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

The production process in with where the truth enters into us, and life, (wisdom and faith) comes out, symbolically represents the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus goes into the tomb dead but is made alive and resurrects. Likewise, the word of God ,(crucified Jesus) goes into us appearing to be just letters on a page, dead. Our spirit, (symbolically the tomb) is where the word, (truth, Jesus) resurrects. It then comes out of us, via our heart, in wise and faithful actions. These actions may be in works, or in speech but they are full of resurrection power, having life in them. Through this process we may know the power of His resurrection (Ephesians 1:19,20).

She's Incomparable

Proverbs 3:15
She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

The production of life has another symbolic representation found in the Old Testament . The process, or cycle, of truth entering into our spirit, continuing on in a production of life is evident through acts of wisdom and is symbolically represented in the womb of a woman. The truth entering into the spirit of a human being is symbolic of the sperm from a male entering into a females womb. Both the spirit and the womb are receiving what the bible refers to as a seed. Seeding truth (the word) into the spirit or seeding sperm into the womb of a woman births two things with the same ingredient, that being life(Genesis 3:20). In Proverbs chapter 3 these two are being related to each other which is why wisdom is referred to in the female gender, "she".

Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Proverbs 3:14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
Proverbs 3:15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Proverbs 3:16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Proverbs 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

I have a desire to see the body of Christ edified. Within the broad spectrum of edification I feel there exists a great need and opportunity for spiritual education at foundational levels. Please contact me about speaking at your church. Dale Linton 410-378-5035 or [email protected]
