My Turn, Someday
by Richard L. Provencher

I'd never seen dad cry before,
sobbing after a night of boozing
remembering hard times
World War 11 friends dying, coming
home to lost jobs, success for
those who didn't join. At night
finding it easier to let go, ashamed
to admit he's just a man. One day
I'll have this same go at my own
limitations, and have a good cry too.
