~What If~
by Shannon Heiden

"Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.

Nelson Mandela

Beautiful One, have you considered the 'what ifs' in life? Not in the way of worrying, more like, what if-

Michael Jordan believed his high school coach when he said he was a terrible player and had him cut from the team?

In his early years, teachers told Edison he was "too stupid to learn anything." Work was no better, he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive enough. As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. What if he hadn't tried just one more time?

What if Winston Churchill quit school after he failed 6th grade twice?

What about this man who was fired by a newspaper editor because, "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas." And after that he started businesses that ended up in bankruptcy, what if Walt Disney believed his failure more than his own imagination?

R. H Macy started seven failed business before finally hitting big with his store in New York City. What if he hadn't?

What if these words were heeded: "You ain't goin' nowhere, son. You ought to go back to drivin' a truck." What if Elvis Presley had done just that?

What if Steven Spielberg's rejection from the University of Southern California School of Theater, Film and Television three times, was enough for him to leave his dream alone and reject it to?

What if Peter had never gotten out of the boat?

What if the blind man hadn't called out to Jesus?

What if, Mary hadn't found favor with the Lord?

What if Rahab hadn't hid the spies?

What if Abraham didn't believe God?

And, what if Jesus hadn't gone to the cross?

Beautiful One, what if you changed those voices in your head, and made them like you instead?

What if you think you can't?

But what if you think you can?

What if you don't try?

But, what if you do?

What if you don't fall down? How will you learn to get back up?

What if you would just close your eyes, and dream, imagine, and believe?

It is a vision we really need to see.

What if dreams really do come true?

What if the possibility of your dream becoming a reality, rests solely on you?

What if its true? What if we are born, me and you, powerful beyond measure?

Beautiful One, just believe, for nothing is impossible for those who do (Mark 9:23 NIV)...
