WISDOM

Today's word - WISDOM

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 9:10).

I cannot tell you how to attain wisdom, other than what God's word says here. But, I can feebly try to put into words my experience with how, I feel, my fears have brought about certain types of wisdom.

First wisdom
I remember the first fear I experienced toward God was the fear of dieing and going to a place called hell. I know this is not a popular topic now a days, but hey just trying to tell it like it was or maybe is. Sometimes the fear for our earthly father is not one of reverence, respect or awe, it is simply the fear of discipline. This was the fear that brought me to salvation and the fear that put me on the road to blessings of His wisdom as He gave me a supernatural thirst for his guidance and word.

Second wisdom
I do not profess to be a wise person, although through the 64 years of this life I have gained a bit of knowledge. Using the knowledge correctly is where wisdom comes in. Using knowledge the way God would have me is a constant learning process, and should always be pursued with respect, reverence and trust of the sovereign wisdom of my heavenly Father.

Third wisdom
Some claim the aforementioned fear of reverence or awe to be the only fear we are to have of God, and although I agree this is an intricate part of fearing our awesome God I think there may be one more type of fear to consider. Fear for what will happen to those who do not accept His free gift of salvation. This fear should motivate us with to seek the wisdom at how to reach out to the lost world and tell them about Jesus.

How do you think fear can bring wisdom?
