Putting Out the Fire
by Bobbi Richardson

Proverbs 26:20 (NLT) - Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.

Gossip is defined as idle talk or rumor, especially about the personal or private affairs of others. It spreads like fire. Like fire, it can hurt and destroy.

As followers of Jesus, it is up to us to put out the fire.

We are to stand out and stand up for others.

We can make a difference by simply refusing to talk about anyone or anything when we do not know the facts.

By keeping what is overheard or what is told to us confident, we stop rumors from spreading.

Gossip is like a raging fire that can easily burn out of control and ruin lives.

Let's do what we can to put it out.

I write because I want to share what Father God has taught me and because I want others to experience His love more and more. My prayer is that my words will inspire someone to seek Him, to find Him, to know Him, to love Him.
