My Call To Fly
by Deborah Ann Belka

On my perch, I sit and wait,
for my call to fly.
And while I wait, I contemplate
where the winds shall carry me.

Should I be taken across the sea,
I would fly above each storm.
And find my way into His arms,
where He'll keep me safe and warm.

If the winds were to take me,
to the highest mountaintop.
I would rise in His mighty love,
and that is where I'd stop.

But, if my call to fly takes me,
into the lowest valley floor.
I would trust that He'd help me,
to spread my wings and soar.

I sit upon my perch,
a sparrow with trusting wings.
And know that I will climb above,
whatever wind, that He brings!
