God's Redemption Plan and The Memorable Passover
by

The time of Passover is here once again,
A moment to perceive Jehovah's love and compassion,
For His people whom he liberated from slavery and pain,
From the hand of the enemy who wickedly held them in detention.

They were physically delivered by an inspiring leader,
Who kept Jehovah's laws and obeyed his command,
He was a great and mighty trail-blazer,
Who walked with God and trusted in His divine plan.

His name was Moses, a man of noble character,
A son of Jochebed, of the tribe of Levi,
In him she saw the potentials of a strong and dependent leader,
So she laid him in an ark of bulrushes, not intending to say good-bye.

He was under the watchful eyes of Miriam his sister,
Who with eagerness, waited to see her brother's fate,
Then pharaoh's daughter arrived on the bank of the Nile River,
And by the will of God, she knew for a fact, in him was something great.

Immediately she claimed him, then Miriam suggested a Hebrew nurse,
Who nurtured and cared him as her very own.
In him, were instilled godly principles as his only source,
She gave him suck to strengthen his little bones.

He was weaned, then taken to the imperial household,
Where he was showered with love and all the luxuries of the Palace,
The finest education, he received with princely grandeur,
His opulence was acknowledged, he was deemed to be the next Pharaoh in place.

He was protected from the terror of Pharaoh's policy against the Hebrews,
Not knowing by fate he was chosen to shape the history of his nation,
On his own, he killed an Egyptian on behalf of the afflicted people,
Subsequently he was hunted by Pharaoh, so he fled to the land of Midian.

His life was changed, when he met with the great I Am,
In an immaculate burning bush, that made him tense,
Amazed and curious, Moses approached the location,
The voice of our Lord he heard, as he stood in His presence.

Moses was commanded to gently lead God's people,
From the affliction that encumbered their souls,
To a place chosen for their rescue,
Where they would find rest in God and sweet repose.

The task was not a quick and easy one
Pharaoh, through the will of God, opposed him in every way,
But for the Glory of the great I Am, it was done,
So the delivered would recognize His power day by day.

The Egyptians suffered at the cost of Jehovah's rage,
Death came to the first born of every fruitful womb,
While His saving grace was upon those of the Hebrew heritage,
To deliver and give them victory as they succumb.

Each Hebrew household sacrificed an unblemished lamb,
And sprinkled the blood on the door post, not understanding why,
This omitted them from the list of the impending doom,
That was inflicted on their enemies as they lamented and cried.

Their last meal were eaten in haste, as they were ready to flee,
They borrowed from their Egyptian neighbors, jewelry and raiment,
Then ran for their lives, leaving behind their misery,
As they hope for a better future, under a new and favorable government.

Now it is time again to remind God's people of His saving power,
When they were rescued from the enemy during that memorable Passover,
This was a foreshadow of things to come, through Jesus our Savior,
Whose blood was shed, to save the souls of every believer.
