Where is Love?
by

I have looked for love in many different places,
My time was wasted, my energy depleted,
Trampling the meadows, looking at various faces,
They stood with pride with my freedom restricted.

Places I have been, looking for peace of mind,
Knocking on doors, without making demands,
Opened up I cried, if you be so kind,
Let not hatred embrace me, with its cold gripping hands.

Relationship was one of my best bargain pleas,
But my choices of them, caused me to stumble and fall,
With their false appearances and high maintenance fees,
So rich with fraud, tasting bitter like gall.

Power with self-indulgence, was one of my leading company,
It roamed the highways and byways so willingly with me,
We traversed the dark corners and sharp edges of cruelty,
Vast emptiness we acquired, with no sense of reality

Family was my focus but I lost them by the way,
lights were sniffed out, darkness was on display,
Friends and acquaintances, appeared as a powerful sway,
The only thing I needed, was knowing how to pray.

Material gains were there everywhere,
But the emptiness of life, would not disappear,
Roaming the cliffs and mountains with fear,
While the shadow of love stood far in despair.

Then one day, quite unexpectedly,
I stumbled on the fairest one, of unrivaled beauty,
He whispered in my ears, He said quite lovingly,
Come home my love, it's time to live triumphantly.

I came so quickly without further delay,
To abide in Love and Him abide in me,
Walking and talking with Him along the way,
He opened the gate of righteousness, the entrance to eternity.

His promise is real, it comes with blessings untold,
Drink from His cup of refreshment, receive His infinite love,
It quenches all thirst, makes the timid bold,
Enter His presence to receive his gifts from above.

Who is Love? Let me explain without ambiguity,
The meaning of His name and His credibility,
He is Jesus the Christ, a name above all names in authority,
He reigns forever, that's for certainty.

Come; partake of this great treasure I have found,
Eternal life He promised, with its precious gifts from above,
Rejoice, His way is homeward bound,
Bask in His glory and His eternal Love.
