Man on a Tractor
by Richard L. Provencher Haying's done. Dotted like freckles are the mounds, early morning when it all began. First the mowing then raking, bailing into bundles scattering across the field acreage stretched into the sun. A farmer prideful of his rows, the perfection of his bales forgiving tiredness in his frame knowing sheep and cattle will cavort in the sweetness of grain. The life of a young man blissful, at peace with himself-- sky and land, a field of promise to fulfill. Richard L.
