The Stream
by Richard L. Provencher I want to feel its soul, the sluice of moisture, rapid movement from each elevation, beginning with the highest precipice, then falling until it gathers in one moist cup a turmoil of air and oxygen, a place fit for denizens who come to share space their fins exultant in their seeking the roiling within molecules, expecting others to join them in rushing downstream and more -- over boulders, beside banks shaving through a parade of soil, stones and debris captured from last nights storm limbs that once held birds, splashing noisily before winking dusk end of another forest-day. The streams downward plunge reaches a plateau of peace, content to rest in the valley, knowing it is sustenance for deer and others. Richard L. Provencher Richard enjoys writing poems; many of which have been published in Print and Online. He and his wife, Esther are also co-authors of stories and a print novel. They are "born again" Christians and very busy in their church, Abundant Life Victory International, in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
