Seeing the Father
by Bobbi Richardson

John 14:9 (NIV) - "...Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father..."

Wherever Jesus went people asked Him why He spoke in "riddles"; why He did not speak plainly.

He was asked over and over to explain who He was and by whose authority He healed and taught.

His answer was always that He spoke and acted by God's authority and direction, but they did not understand.

In a room alone with His closest followers, preparing them for what would soon take place, He told them plainly.

Those words He spoke could not be misunderstood. No one could misinterpret. This was the plain truth, without embellishment.

If we want to see God all we need to do is look at Jesus.

To see the Father, look at the Son.

When He spoke, it was God speaking. When He taught, it was God teaching. When He healed, it was God healing.

It was God's grace that compelled Him to die for us; making the one and only sinless sacrifice for sinful people.

And it was God's power that raised Him up, victoriously leading the way for all those who believe and accept His gift.

It is by our Father's love and compassion that we rejoice at the miracle of new life, free from death and forgiven completely.

Jesus is God.

Anyone who knows Jesus, knows the Father.

I write because I want to share what Father God has taught me and because I want others to experience His love more and more. My prayer is that my words will inspire someone to seek Him, to find Him, to know Him, to love Him.
