Results of the Hunt
by PamFord Davis

Children are getting ready for Easter egg hunts. It is a fun day for toddlers to adolescents. The younger do not fully understand the rules or results of the hunt; they are just excited and search for colorful eggs. Mommy often helps fill the basket and takes snapshots and video to record the event. If an adult is there in a Bunny costume. Do not be surprised if youngsters cry and want no part of the furry friend!

Children gather eggs. They giggle with glee! The Lord invites us to gather sheaves, representing the lost. "He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him (Psalms 126:5-6 NAS)." Easter eggs in baskets offer only temporary excitement; our joy is eternal when we see God's word planted in hearts and wept over by planters. Shout for joy!
