Sleepover in Toronto
by Richard L. Provencher

Through frost's biting
cold Go-Bus passengers stare
at heaps of sleeping
bags on the sidewalk, zippers open
for quick dives into warmth.
We pray those vagabond
warriors are filling up at soup
kitchens, even chasing a few loonies
corner of Yonge and Bloor--
or visiting the friendly benches
at City Hall Square.
Soon, evening's chill will
remind the homeless, their cloth
of comfort awaits to flee
this bath of winter.

Richard L. Provencher

Richard enjoys writing poems; many of which have been published in Print and Online. He and his wife, Esther are also co-authors of stories and a print novel. They are "born again" Christians and very busy in their church, Abundant Life Victory International, in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia.
