Resurrection Morning
by There lay his grave but the body was gone, Who could have done such mischief, before the break of dawn? The sepulcher was guarded by Roman Centurions, But the Savior disappeared, though they were cautioned. The women appeared with mixtures of spices, To anoint our Savior, though he was demised, Surprised they were, to find the stone rolled away, Leaving an empty grave, much to their dismay. Two men stood by in immaculate garments, And the women thought, "Oh these must be the culprits", But a question was asked by these heavenly beings, "Why among the dead are you looking for the living"? Filled with fear, the women stood there astonished, Not knowing what to do now the Lord had vanished, But hope revived them, when they heard he had risen, And was already in Galilee, free from his earthly prison. Thank God for that great and glorious resurrection morning, When chilling death had lost its sting and lonely grave its victory, Though our Savior's heel was bruised, when he suffered death unjustly, He crushed the head of the enemy, who is responsible for the lives we live immorally. His blood gave us redemption and his resurrection salvation, He graciously balanced the scale and brilliantly solved the equation, So let us rejoice and sing, "Alleluia" to his glorious name, And follow his pathway, for in it there's no shame. He did it all because of love and dedication, To the father above and this earthly generation, Now hope which was once dead, has been revived, Due to his obedience and plan, that was well strategized. Let Resurrection Day be one of glorious remembrance, To embrace our Savior with acts of obedience, Commend unto him all that's within, And give him access, as he knocks to enter in.
