Memories
by

Memories are like a deep and fathomless ocean,
A place of treasures and many things in motion,
Some remain deeply buried not worthy of unearthing,
They quake the heart, with pain unending.

Many are precious and will remain completely fresh,
Watered with love and absorbed as a succulent dish,
Others are not worth remembering, yet they constantly stay with us,
To probe our minds, not leaving any space to adjust.

Lets take a trip down memory lane,
To tickle your mind and probe the brain,
Whatever is the result, recap it well,
For this will be added to the library to tell.

What about the memory of your first cry?
You should remember how it happened and the reason why,
For peace sake! I was a new born babe and partially blind,
Without a clue of what was taking place, in this world of mine.

OK! Lets see if you can remember this important scene,
When you were hungry, desperately crying for your feed,
Thats a teaser; my memory was not functioning on its own,
It sure did happen but retracing those steps, would be a task of fun.

Another look at the past; as you pull back the curtain of time,
When your soul was starved and the distress bell was chimed,
What are the memories of those painful moments,
When you longed for peace, which was scarce and regularly absent?

As painful as those memories may be,
They taught me how to stand tall on my bending knees,
The moments of hurt and desperation,
Were relieved, because of unceasing incantation.

Some memories we wish, we could definitely undo,
But they make way for challenging encounters, to change our point of view,
They create circumstances that are refreshing as the morning dew,
Giving us a start of remembrance, thats puzzling and brand new.

Their trails leave behind, memories of Jesus flooding our hearts with peace,
When the sea was rough and, turbulent waves refused to cease,
Often times, these end up being cherished and worthy to be shared
With those in the same predicament smothered with despair.

The memory of Jesus love should be invaluable,
For with his precious life, he made ours available,
He surrendered his crown of glory, to give us crowns of victory,
Remembering him, will be a blessing and life eternally.

Now, here is the last quiz and, this you should not fail,
When last have you read his word, to see what it entails,
Oh! I attend to it daily and incline my ear to its sayings,
So it may give me renewed life and faith that is unwavering.
