Mother's Blessing
by veronica cressey

May your mother's love live in you since the day that you were born,
as she places an umbrella in your hands, against each storm.

May you feel her loving presence, not unlike stroking your hair.
So to realize living this life is not without a care.

May you feel your mother's elbow when you know you've made a mess.
May you see her finger pointing towards those who are distressed.

May you shake hands with your friends to know you've made a memory,
a tiny jigsaw piece of time we share in history!

May you find the bashful sun when all you see are cloudy skies.
May you then believe you've always been the apple of her eye.

May she dance within your thoughts, within your dreams both night and day.
May she be the friend who listens to each word you have to say.

May her coffee vapour take with it, all problems unforseen,
May her tea leaves make impressions, thus reflecting your own dream.

May the tears she shed on your behalf are caught by Angels' breath.
May your mother's love remain with you, indeed, you won't forget.
