He Lifts Me Up
by Deborah Ann Belka

Once I was broken,
beaten and down.
Then came my Savior,
to bring me around.

Who would believe it,
who would have known?
That Jesus thought of me,
as one of His own!

He lifts me up,
high off the ground.
Making my steps,
solid and sound.

Heavenly blessings,
He wants to give.
Sinful discretions,
He came to forgive.

Angels of Mercy,
He sends my way.
Helping me to walk on,
these feet of clay.

He lifts me up,
high off the ground.
Making my steps,
solid and sound.

Lifting me up,
keeping me secure.
Raising me above,
the pull of Satin's lure.

Watching and waiting,
for each step I take.
Sending forgiveness,
for each slip, I make.

He lifts me up,
high off the ground.
Keeping my steps,
from hell's fiery bound!

Psalm 40:2

"He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock,
and established my steps."
