Celebrate The Freedom
by Steve Countryman

I was being attacked and I didn't see it coming. I didn't expect it, I wasn't looking for it. I was in that dangerous place of thinking that it wouldn't happen to me. That I was more spiritual than that. You know that time when you let your guard down and your pride gets in the way. How foolish I was! Most women have a natural ability over men to sense things that most men are oblivious to. They can pick up on someone's character or personality traits more quickly then men can. We men don't usually see it until it slaps us right upside our heads! Women have a more sensitive spirit, which gives them a natural discernment ability.

God has provided to all of His children the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is up to us to utilize them. The gift that God had given me was the gift of discernment. The ability to sense things in the natural and supernatural. To distinguish between good and evil spirits. Your spirit picks up on the presences of other spirits around other people. It doesn't always clearly happen because it is based on the level of your walk with the Lord that brings the clarity when using this gift. It is the negative influences that those people have on their surroundings that is noticeable. This particular day at work I had sensed something about this person but didn't really know what it was. I should have paid closer attention! My spirit was unsettled and that was a warning sign to me that I ignored.

When you are attacked it can happen in different ways, both in the natural and in the supernatural. It is usually subtle at first then most of the time you don't realize you are under an attack until it is too late. Your thoughts are one way it starts. This was a "customer" who had planned on ripping me off! I didn't realize it was an attack until it was over. I blamed myself for ignoring the signs in my spirit. I had noticed how this person acted, what was said around others and what their body language was saying but ignored it. Afterwards as I started looking back God showed me the signs that I dismissed. How every time this person left is when the spiritual attacks would happen. It wasn't until after the third and last encounter with this person that I finally got a clue. Thank God that I realized their plan before I became a victim!

God reminded me that when these attacks come that we are to submit those thoughts that contradict God's Word over to God for destruction and when our spirit is unsettled that we are to seek God's counsel in prayer. Plead the blood of the Lamb for protection and run from, or avoid at all costs, all temptation and sin. God then shared with me that we are to celebrate the freedom that comes from God when these attacks come. 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

The freedom from all sin. The freedom from a life of slavery to sin and addictions. The freedom from all kinds of bondage. The freedom from all sickness and diseases. The freedom from sinful habits. The freedom from all doubt and fear. The freedom to be an overcomer and more than a conqueror. The freedom from Hell and eternal damnation. The freedom from hatred, anger, bitterness, un-forgiveness and offensives. The freedom to love unconditionally as God loves. The freedom to live for God. The freedom to praise God for His goodness. The freedoms we have here in this blessed country. Don't let the Devil rob you of your God given freedoms!

You don't have to be trapped by or fall victim to evil spirits that are around other people. You don't have to be negatively influenced by their attitudes, actions or words. You have freedom that they do not have and His name is Jesus! Celebrate your freedom in praise to your God! Are you ready?!?
