Read It
by Deborah Ann Belka

Don't let your Bible sit alone on the shelve,
where dust and cobwebs mound and grow.
Pick it up and read it,
and the Word of God you'll soon get to know.

Don't just flip through all the many pages,
read it, through and through and through.
From the first book to the very last one,
and His love will be revealed to you.

Don't forget all the begets and begottens,
they're a part of your legacy and birthright.
Though, it may seem boring when you read it,
you'll understand mankind and their plight.

Don't be afraid to underline your favorite verses,
that way when you read it, they will stand out.
And soon your Bible will look like a road map,
that will steer you away from fear and doubt.

Don't letting temptation in your front door,
instead, open up your Bible and read it.
And the power of His strength that you have,
will keep you out of Satan's pit.

Don't leave your Bible sitting on the bed stand,
take it to bed with you every night.
Just open it up and read it,
and in the morning you'll awaken in His light.
