Spiritual Basic Training: 50 Missions for a Spirit-Filled #15
by chris benjamin

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). Every one of us must continually seek God's knowledge. We have to keep it fresh in our minds and never let our thirst for the living Word be quenched. When we start our spiritual basic training, keep our compass near at all times. Every believer in the Lord should treat the Bible as a sensitive item. Never leave it unaccounted for. It has the power of the living Word of God under its cover. We all need to have the Scriptures near us throughout the day so that we can concentrate on his message continually. Priest, pastor, saint, or sinner, every one of us has a message in the Scriptures. Every one of us has a need for the living Word in our lives. Surrounding ourselves with the Word is only the first step. Next, and most importantly, is implementing God's Word in our lives. Do not merely read the messages in the Bible and let them fall away from our thoughts. Understand what God is saying in his message and live it out passionately every day. God's Word has the power to change our lives for the better if we just learn it, live it, and pass it on to the world.

MISSION: Compass check

Find a Bible and keep it near at all times. Wherever we go during the course of the day, take God's Holy Bible with us always. Our holy compass will save us from becoming lost in a world of temptation. Pull the Bible out every day to ensure we are still on the correct azimuth for God's righteous path.
