Spiritual Basic Training: 50 Missions for a Spirit-Filled Life #24
by chris benjamin "Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy'"(1 Peter 1:1316). Never give up or give in! We all fall short of perfection in this earthy life. It is not a sprint to the finish line of salvation but a race of long distance and endurance. We have a lot to learn along the way from God. It takes time to cultivate a pure righteous life. Keep that in mind when we aspire to holiness. There has been only one perfect being on earth and that was Jesus Christ. He came to earth to show the world how to live a righteous spirit-filled life. Our heavenly compass the Bible will point the way to salvation. Sometimes we may forget to check with our compass and we veer off course. Do not get discouraged when we find we are off the righteous path. Pull out the holy compass and check our azimuth. Set a new course and make haste to our ultimate destination of salvation. MISSION: Steadfast perseverance. Rise up! Say it out loud. Rise up and march on to victory in the Lord! Start the journey to salvation knowing that we will fall short of perfection. Be prepared to stumble along the path. Our trips and falls on the path are learning points for our lives. It is how we respond to our imperfections that will determine the outcome of our journey. So do not stay down when we fall! Stay straight and stalwart in our resolve to achieve our final objective which is peaceful everlasting life with our Lord God Almighty.
