Slaves Set Free By Emancipation Proclamation
by PamFord Davis

Many American slaves found freedom through the stroke of a pen; President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in the year 1863. They now had the protection of the law of the land; the federal government would hold slave owners accountable for the release of those they deemed personal property.

Satan once held me captive as his slave to sin. God set me free! "But thank God that, although you used to be slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to, and having been liberated from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness (Romans 6:17-18 HCS)." Sin is a cruel master; I find freedom in slavery to righteousness through love of my master and friend Jesus.
