I WANT TO RUN LIKE THE MEN OF OLD (PT 2)
by SIXTUS ONYEANUSI

I want to run like the men of old
Nothing could separate them from God's love
By all good means, they ran to win Christ
They crucified the flesh and its passions
They did all of what they did in Light
They did good with a great compassion
I want to run like these men of old

I want to run like the men of old
They made themselves of no reputation
They allowed themselves be defrauded
They esteemed so much their Salvation
They looked up to God their Defender
They lived each day with the rapture hope
I want to run like the men of old

I want to run like the men of old
They kept their hearts pure; free from grudges
Offences came, yet they chose to forgive
They kept their souls calm; free from worries
They slept like babes; wake for what they believed
With mouth full of grace, they blessed-cursed not
I want to run like these men of old
