I WANT TO RUN LIKE THE MEN OF OLD (PT 3)
by SIXTUS ONYEANUSI

I want to run like the men of old
Jesus Christ alone was their pattern
They put their feet where He put His own
They walked in the word as their lantern.
They eschewd evil and pursued peace.
They decreased and Jesus Lord increased.
I want to run with these men of old.

I want to run like the men of old
They so treasured the place of prayer
The Lord's Presence was their Comfort Zone
They got deeper than the first layer
There they travailed for the souls untold
They ran with God's abiding Presence
I want to run like these men of old

I want to run like the men of old
Their hearts got pains, but garments not stained
Their hopes tarried, yet not carried off
They were so mocked, yet did not give up
They knew whom they've believed and received
They trusted God and did not draw back
I want to run like these men of old
