The man called Jesus

THE MAN CALLED JESUS

Have you seen a baby lying in a manger?
Father and mother looking on with pride
Upon their child meek and mild
Wise men and shepherds gaze with awe
At the peaceful sleeping child

Have you seen a child?
Playing with his friends
Learning to be obedient
Learning his fathers trade
Going to the synagogue
Teaching like a man

Did you ever see a man?
Walking through the streets
Healing lots of people
Sitting children upon his knee
And setting the captives free
Then kneeling to wash his disciple's feet

Did you see the man dying on a tree?
See him hanging for you and me
See the thorn's upon his head
Streams of forgiveness as he bled
This is god son or so it is said

Did you see a mother?
Crying for her son
Feeling much pain
And feeling so alone
We can't possibly understand
As she remembers all the joyful times

Did you see this Jesus?
Standing at your door
Knocking oh so quietly
Waiting for an answer
Hoping you will let Him in

He wants to live within you
And guide you all the way
To take your hand and walk with you
And hear your heart felt prayers
So this jolly Christmas time
With all the gifts and toys
Remember too my savior
And his free gift to you
