Mother's Path
by Jacquelyn Horne When silently she closed her eyes, I really couldn't tell Which way she went As, secretly she slipped beyond life's veil. I loved her with a love so strong, I know she loved me more, But love is not a key To see what lies beyond the door. I watched her house serenely there Upon the lowly bed And knew the hurt Of gentle words that never could be said. And though I search this whole world o'er, I'll never find, I know, The secret path she traveled in When it was time to go. But in the treasures left behind, On a map with her tears stained, She marked the way that she would go, While here she yet remained. And if I follow closely here Her marks within God's book, I know that when I reach that veil, I'll go the way she took. ...............................................................
