Dear Fainthearted One
by Deborah Ann Belka

Oh, dear fainthearted one,
does life have you down?
Has depression robbed your smile,
and given you its hopeless frown?

Do worry lines map your face,
are your eyes filled with fear?
Do you embrace your melancholy,
and hold anxiousness near and dear?

Has your doubt caught up with you,
has it stolen your peace of mind?
Does confusion torment your soul,
making tranquility hard to find?

Has your devotion bottomed out,
is your hope in things that won't last?
Has your faithfulness withered away,
do you still hold on to your gloomy past?

Oh, dear fainthearted one,
don't you stop trusting or believing
give God all that makes your faith weak
and His strength you'll start receiving!
