The 1 Corinthians Prayer
by Laura Swindon-Ross

"Every man's work shall be made manifest." 1 Corinthians 3:13

And when the time comes
God will speak from the Spirit of the Ages
In whose creation He hath spent an eternity to
Arrive at the turning mirror of all that
Is
All
That
Ever
Was
To find in each man the true purpose of what he will ever be

For the Kingdom of God
Is like a great wind which in its seeking to disclose
Itself
Breathes sweetly here
Darkly there
Disturbing all men from the obscurity of their many hidden
Corners
In the world
Where the heart will shine out its
True nature

And if he will see God
But not
Acknowledge Him
(Turning from his
Neighbour in his time of
Anguish at the
Door
Sealing up the temple paved with gold and
Silver floors)
The rich, the mighty, the powerful, will know at last and
At
Last
And
Eternally
What it is
To be truly
Poor -

(Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's spirit lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16)
