Music Box Ballerina
by Melissa Martin

After nine months
I open the lid
To the music box
And the tiny ballerina
Dances to my heartbeat,
Ballets to my voice,
Pilates to my breast.

I fill the box with
unseen treasures
platinum melodies
butterfly kisses.

The tiny dancer twirls and swirls
As we sing in harmony.

Melissa writes about the God and human connection and condition.
