Hell's Holiday
by Donald Mehl Yesterday was Halloween...the highest satanic holy day of the year. Halloween is the pinnacle of demonic paganism with its rituals celebrated year after year by untold millions of individuals and businesses. Satan must be dancing in the streets over the success of his Halloween holiday. The sale of candy and other Halloween related items run into the millions of dollars. Everywhere there are ghastly displays of the skeletal remains of decomposed bodies...horrid screaming...grave yards with aged tomb stones...ghost figures...spider webs...the walking dead...grotesque bloody faces...loud mid-evil music...witches...and vampire bats. Vandalism and property damage is common, as are efforts to contaminate food items with razor blades and needles. The entire evil event can only be described as something straight from the pit of hell. In spite of that, we still allow our kids to venture out in the dark of night, while dressed in horrific and suggestive costumes, to knock on doors yelling, "Trick or treat!" The little beggars always tote large bags, baskets, or other such containers with which to carry their treasured haul of candy. They will often race wildly from house to house as if controlled by some unseen force. Most people today view Halloween as a "fun" time as they have for generations. However, Satan has done a great job of convincing the masses that his dark, demonic world is something to be celebrated and glorified. The master of deceit has successfully lured Bible believing Christians to be followers of his schemes. Many Christian parents would say, "Well, it didn't hurt me when I was a kid", or, "It's just a time when kids can have some fun, so what's the big deal?" The truth is that it did hurt them and it is a big deal, only they don't realize it. Their seemingly innocent childhood experience is being passed on to their children and grandchildren. The big deal is that the Halloween cult has now gained new generations of followers. It will be a much bigger deal when an account must be given to Almighty God as to why encouragement and support of demonic rituals was given for our little ones to follow. It is certain God will not be happy. Some churches even schedule a kid's Halloween party for fun and games on that day. But, why of all days would they choose that particular time for a party when the entire pagan world is also partying? The Bible tells us we must not even have the appearance of evil. One would have to look far and wide to find any satanic celebrations in support of Christmas Day or Easter. Satan is relentlessly attempting to turn people's eyes away from Jesus on those Christian holidays. Christians must not have anything to do with the festivities of Hell's Holiday, either. We all need to think long and hard about that. During retirement, my prayer is that I might serve the Lord by sharing the Gospel through my writing. As the Lord leads, my work will inform, challenge and encourage. I also enjoy Biblical theme woodcarving, Bible studies and Christian music. Watch, pray and keep looking up!
