Deer Hunter, The Killing Fields, Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Horrors of war cannot be fully captured on the TV screen. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, The Boonie Rat Song, GI Joes and rock-n-roll; music cannot fully capture the turbulence. Mangled minds, mangled bodies, mangled souls, Existing in VA hospitals and homeless shelters. LBJ, are you doing your penance for scarring America? Lies, deceit, misused power; your red palms will not be cleansed. Nixon, you have not explained the tragedy at Kent State, Where our nation's innocence died with the students. History, you teach us lessons, but we listen with closed ears, History books, we turn your pages then close you tightly.
