Deliverance Part II
by Steve Countryman

God showed me a vision of a man who had been rescued from a shipwreck. His life had been spared. The name of the ship he had been traveling on was the U.S.S. "It's All About Me" ship. That ship isn't designed for rough waters. It is designed to fall apart at the first sign of trouble. The waters of life can get real rough at times and can shipwreck you. But if you want you can be saved by the grace of God! Being delivered and rescued from the watery grave.

The picture I saw was that man with a large piece of the wooden ship's hull strapped to his back. It was very heavy and very cumbersome. It would often cause him to stumble and fall down. It was so big that it restricted his movement and access into different places that other Christians could easily move about in. God showed me that because of the man's past, that the man was unwilling to let go of it and it was restricting the freedom that God had given him from being rescued. That restriction was carrying over into all parts of the man's life. It was affecting the man's health, his family, his job and relationships with his friends. It was causing him to miss out on blessings that God had set aside for him. The man was missing out on spiritual growth, spiritual enlightenment and spiritual awareness. He wanted close intimacy with the Father but wouldn't let go of the past to obtain it.

God's perfect will is that you be delivered and stay free but some times people will look back to that part of their life. They do so for memory's sake or from hurt, pain or anger or out of habit or routine and grab onto a piece of that past. When they do they allow themselves to be snared and trapped by it. When you let your past govern your future then you are doomed to repeat your past. Those things in your life that cause you to be fearful and trapped then become your god. They will demand more of your time, money, attention and energy. They only have the power in your life that you give them. A child of the King has a way of salvation, a way of deliverance and His name is Jesus!

You have to be willing to let go of the past; life, sins, bad habits, abuses and addictions, if you want true freedom in your life. Carrying even a part of them around with you will only keep you tied to them and tie you down. It requires faith and courage on your part to let go. Let go of the fear that holding onto them brings. Let go of the old routines and trust in God to bring you through and into the wonderful abundant life that Jesus has for you. People get stuck in their past and find it hard to let go because of the influences of others in their lives. People who live their lives according to what others expect from them. People who live the lives according to what people tell them they should do. There are those people who are always trying to please others because they are fearful of rejection and loneliness. Still there are those who live the lives based on the "labels" that people have given them. Don't let others define who you are; only God has that right! You are a new creation in Christ!

To receive God's complete deliverance you must first believe that God will do what He says that He will do. Second, you must release that wooden hull of your wrecked ship, old baggage, past lifestyle/sins in your life to allow God to heal and restore your mind, body, soul and spirit. To release and forgive those who have hurt you and sinned against you. And third receive your complete deliverance, restoration and peace along with all that God has for you. God wants to shower you with His tremendous blessings.

You have the choice, choose life, choose a lighter load, choose God's Kingdom, choose Jesus and choose His freedom! Don't miss out on what God has for you. Trust in God and believe, release and receive in Jesus name, be delivered and set free! Are you ready?!?
