Faulty Vision
by Deborah Ann Belka

Lord, repair the pain in Your children,
and all of the hurt that we may feel
touch the brokenness of our spirits
so we may mend and begin to heal.

Help us to respect how You made us,
so we may appreciate other's too
fill out hearts with Your tender love
for it is unconditional and true.

Remove from our faulty vision,
the mistakes we see in each other
show us how to be accountable
and not to put the blame on another.

Teach us how not to pass judgment,
or speak foul about someone else
show us how not to point the finger
but to be answerable for ourselves.

Take from us our jealous nature,
fill us with Your mercy and grace
let us look at ourselves in the mirror
and recognize our own sinful face.

Restore our compassion for each other,
give unto us a renewed spirtiual vision
remove from us our hypocritical views
so we can but an end to our derision.

Lord, mend the hearts of Your children,
may revenge remain in Your hands Lord
let us first take care of our own plank
and not look for our neighbor's board!

Matthew 7:3-5

"And why do you look at the speck in your
brother's eye, but do not consider the plank
in your own eye? Or how can you say to
your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from
your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own
eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from
your own eye, and then you will see clearly
to remove the speck from your brother's
eye."
