New Eyes For Christmas
by Don Knoll I just got new eyes for Christmas. New lenses for both of my eyes. A miracle no one can argue. A Christmas present to prize. I wasn't washed in Siloam, O smeared with a spittle of clay, But God let a man make me new lens. I can see, like they say, "Plain as day." Like the man Jesus healed in the Bible Told others, when happy like me: I can tell all the scoffers just one thing, "I was blurred, but now I can see." The best Christmas present was Jesus For me just turned 80 in years. And nothing from stores will bring pleasure Like sight,- it brings me to tears. Old age, UV, cataracts, looking, All added up to my blurred eyes. But "Who healeth all thy diseases" Gave this poor sinner this prize. I thank God for His mercy in Jesus; At Christmas His story is plain. It's sung amid major confusion, But find time to praise Him again. Retired from farm, industry and office.
