Rest and Rubdown
by PamFord Davis

My life at times reminds me of the "Sebring International Raceway;" I'm wide open, whizzing from one chore to the next, going around in a circle and ending up right back where I started. I stir up as much dust as a race-car but never seem to come in as a winner. I believe it is time to trade speed for an easy trot. Even good racehorses earn a rest and rub down.

Jesus knew the importance of rest. "The apostles then rendezvoused with Jesus and reported on all that they had done and taught. Jesus said, 'Come off by yourselves; let's take a break and get a little rest.' For there was constant coming and going. They didn't even have time to eat (Mark 6:31 The Message)." I'll take a break, feast on His word and then get back in the race.
