DENOMINATION IS LIMITATION
by SIXTUS ONYEANUSI Denom'nation is lim'tation It hinders so great salvation And the free flow of the Spirit It causes a great sep'ration And the brethren lose unity Slowly straying from the true way The foe creeps in to hold us sway Denom'nation builds back again The long-tall wall of partition Which shuts the door of grace on men And closes the windows of love Leaving them broken and wounded Helpless, hopeless, weary and scorned Oh, what a great separation Robbing men of their redemption Jesus didn't bring denom'nation He brought one common salvation Through His uncommon redemption He brought all men on common ground The Gentiles, the Jews sitting down With a free heart, despising none In one accord, worshipping God Loving Jesus, seeing Jesus Walking in love with the brethren Loving all men as Jesus does Pract'cally sharing their burdens No division, no division No diversion, no diversion No perversion, no perversion No confusion, no confusion Just the pure vision of Jesus Enduring as the saints in Light Bearing about the mark of Christ Loving sincerely and dearly Men seeing Christ in you clearly Denom'nation is limitation It hinders so great salvation It denies true edif'cation It gives room for strong contentions And that grieves the Spirit of God One doth say that," I am of Paul" One saith, " I am of Apollos" One saith that, "I am of Cephas" Another saith, "I am of Christ" So I ask, Is Christ divided? Is it not one Spirit of Grace? Is it not one Faith and one Race? Is it really thesame Heaven? Is it really thesame newbirth? Denom'nation is sep'ration I am not of the Pent'costal I'm not of Evangelical I am not of Charismatic Neither am I of the Baptist I am not of Apostolic I am not Roman Catholic I am not of the Methodist I am not of the Calvanist I am not of Presbyterian I am not of the Anglican I am not of the Lutherian I'm just a born again Christian Built on the Apostles, prophets And Christ as the Chief Corner Stone A new Man showing what I profess I'm just God's child before His throne I am just a hungry Christian Seeking to have more of Jesus Seeking Jesus, not just mere men To please Jesus and win His heart To heed God's word; the word of truth To seek out God's will-walk in it Seeing the Lord in His children Loving Jesus and the brethren Seeing beyond the tents and walls Living my life on God's pure word Oh, away with denom'nation This wasn't what our God gave us He gave us the Bread from Heaven He gave us One Way; One Jesus He gave One Gospel; One Purpose He gave us One mind and One Hope He gave us One Spirit; One Home He gave us not denom'nation He delights not in contentions He delights not in divisions Thus He broke the wall of part'tion He gave us common salvation And Christ our Most sure salvation Denom'nation is lim'tation Away with denomination I'm not denominational I'm just a Christian loving Christ Full of grace and life eternal Was once darkness, but now in Light And now I love to share God's Light I'm not denominational I love all them that love Jesus Who call His Name with a pure heart Who bear His Name with a true life Who indeed have been touched of Christ Who indeed are the Church of Christ Walking day to day in His steps Dwelling daily in His Presence Making God's word the only standard Taking Christ to where the losts are I see not their denom'nation I see their genuine salvation I see their genuine love for God I see their pos'tive fear of God I see their peace and joy of faith I see their genuine cry for God ...their deep huger for righteousness ...their longing for true holiness ...their willingness to learn of Christ ...their readiness to do things right Through humbleness, cheerful service Being selfless, letting their lights shine Through kindness, forgiveness, good works With thankfulness, spreading God's love These're what I choose to see in them I see not their denom'nation I see beyond denom'nation I see beyond denom'nation Denom'nation is lim'tation An enemy of unity It robs the Church true edif'cation There's no free flow of the Spirit Away with denom'nation! Oh, see beyond denom'nation Let's see beyond the tents and walls See beyond faces and races See beyond skin colours and tongues I see beyond denom'nation I see Christ in their genuine heart A new heart, and a new Spirit A heart with Christ's relationship A heart that knows Jesus is sweet A soft heart, a heart of worship A heart that reverences the Lord A heart that trembles at God's word A heart the Blood purged its conscience A heart that has no space for hatred A heart with God's abiding presence A heart that has no chance for envy A heart that keeps no thought of evil A free heart, a pure and cheerful heart This is what I seek inside men It's what I choose to see in them No, no, not their denom'nation But the true knowledge of Jesus And the message of the cross For enquiries, contact me on: [email protected] +2348064268944 Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
