Remember Eve's Taste Buds?
by Marilyn Schnepp I once had a taste for the high life So I borrowed my way to the top I'd charge this and borrow that Until finally it came to a Stop. My taste for the high life was short and sweet And now I'm back in the slums My penthouse, of course, looks down and laughs While I scrounge around looking for crumbs. My taste-buds I blame for my downfall They desired much more than I earned, But I, like a fool, fulfilled every yen And gave in to whatever they yearned. One taste bud wanted a fancy car While another longed for a boat, And the taste bud that wanted the Paris trip Couldn't go 'till we had a mink coat. If only, if only...I had remembered Eve And the way she had done us all in. With her taste for that apple a long time ago That brought down our world with her sin. Well, I'll wrap this up with a cautionary note: With a word of advice that I'll share... God gives us hearing, smell & sight, But with "touch" and "taste" - Be Aware! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can be reached at [email protected] Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
