Evening Prayer
by Jennifer Molloy

Evening Prayer

Before I lay and surrender the day
I close my eyes and begin to pray

Lord follow me now and count my steps
As I follow my sheppard to a place of rest

Watch over me as I learn from you
The way I should go and what I should do

Teach me the way to shoulder the weight
that I bare on my shoulders on the path that I take

Chosen by you, accepted by me
Together forever so please hear my plea

Lead me in courage, hold me in Love
And I'll do my best to rise above

But if I should fall please don't let go
Bare me up from the waves that ravage me so

Collect me close, breathe love in my heart
Healing my wounds till I'm ready to part

On the path directed by you, chosen by me
Put joy in my heart over things that will be
