by Jennifer Molloy Evening Prayer Before I lay and surrender the day I close my eyes and begin to pray Lord follow me now and count my steps As I follow my sheppard to a place of rest Watch over me as I learn from you The way I should go and what I should do Teach me the way to shoulder the weight that I bare on my shoulders on the path that I take Chosen by you, accepted by me Together forever so please hear my plea Lead me in courage, hold me in Love And I'll do my best to rise above But if I should fall please don't let go Bare me up from the waves that ravage me so Collect me close, breathe love in my heart Healing my wounds till I'm ready to part On the path directed by you, chosen by me Put joy in my heart over things that will be JL Molloy Contact me at [email protected] I am a freelance writer and poet that writes poetry and commentary on my christian life.
