When God Calls, where Will You be?
by Wangari Murathe "The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the LORD, where the ark of God was." 1 Samuel 3:3 When the Lord called Samuel, he was in the House of the Lord and the Lamp of God was still burning. He was connected to God and was able to hear when called. How about you? Are you connected to God or are you out there where He cannot reach you? You can only be in the Lord's presence having being brought there by the Holy Spirit. Many times he wants to find you but you are out there entangled by all manner of sin. Saul stood out and God anointed him to lead his people. But in the ceremony to present him to the people, when he was called he had to be fished out from behind the baggage where he was hiding.( 1 Samuel 10:21-22). Could it be that God has called you but his goodness has left you? What baggage are you placing before you? Could it greed, sloth, vengeance, pride, lust, envy or religion? Could it be fear of failure in the great responsibility put before you? Trust the Lord to work with you to scatter all enemies.
