Tied Together for Life
by Faith C

Friends, as I lay in bed thinking about God and life this morning, I was asking the LORD how to be strong in trials and He gave me these images.

I saw many strong single roses with thick stems and they were all planted separately in soil. Then I saw a small rose, and it was planted next to them but it was tied to a stick that gave it support.

God showed me that through the days, weeks ahead this little rose was gaining its strength from the stick which helped it to stay firm and not fall down in the wind. This stick encouraged it and gave it hope saying "Do not fear, I am with you. Stay firm, stay by my side. I will not let you fall, I will help you grow."

Suddenly this rose knew that it was not alone, it was also not intimidated by the other strong roses and it started to grow and grow. It became tall and strong and the stick remained its same size and shouted out "Grow my friend, I am still here. I will not leave you or forsake you. Even if you do not see me, remember we are tied together at the base."

This rose finally out grew all the others.

The moral of this experience, is for us to be as if tied to God. To stay so close to Him that we feel His Strength, His Power, His Care at all times. We need to immerse ourselves in His Word, in prayer, meditating on Scripture and holding onto His Promises. I loved the imagery of the rose and the stick and I offer it to you, hold onto it and it will bring you comfort. Meditate on it and let it lead you to have your own encounter with God.

May God be with you today. May His Face shine upon you. May He bring you comfort and hope in your trials and may He uplift you in your times of despair. May He fill you with a longing for His Word and may you open your heart and mind to His calling on your life.
