He, Thee and Me
by PamFord Davis

I nearly breakout in spiritual goose bumps just thinking about two old movies: Gary Coopers "Friendly Persuasion" and John Wayne's "Angel and the Bad Man." Each of these classics takes us, by way of script and screen to see family life of Quakers or like-minded believers. I especially liked the dialogue. In our slang-saturated society, it is nice to return to formality of thee and thou.

"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee;
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them (Numbers 6:24-27 KJV)."
