The day of the Lord is at hand: Are you ready? Part 2
by Wendy B McLain

The sin nature

The sin nature is what happened to all of humanity because of one man's choice to disobey God. As a result everyone is condemned. Each person is physically born with this sin nature within him or her. The only way to be freed from this condemnation is to be reborn or born again.

This rebirth is not of a physical nature but of a spiritual one and it requires crying out to the Lord from a genuinely broken spirit over the sinful condition of the heart that has kept that person separated from their Creator.

The realization of a person's hostility toward and rejection of a holy and righteous God who created them to walk in fellowship with Him must be acknowledged.

Jesus Christ the Savior of the world

Jesus (also known as the second Adam) who being without sin came to this world as a babe in a manger born of a virgin who conceived Him through God's Holy Spirit.

He was human with flesh, blood and bone, body, soul and spirit and yet He is God. He lived among men, women and children and shared His life with them. He was a servant on this earth and yet He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

He lived a sinless life to die an excruciating death that humanity might be set free from the terrible fate that awaits them because of the original choice made by the first Adam to rebel and sin. 'For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous,' (Rom 5:19).

Are you ready?

God loves you and He is waiting for you to choose life. Death came through Adam but God in His grace and mercy sent life through Jesus Christ the Savior of the world.

Choose life and live.
