Things Er Lookin Up!
by PamFord Davis

Smile, "things er lookin up!" It's due time I get a crick in my neck from a steady gaze in that direction. The usual view below is losin my tention. I heard a feller say, "Same old, same old." Yup, folks don't change much. Granny would take a broom to her brood with a word of warnin. "Ifin yer don't change yer wayward ways yer in a packa trouble!"

Mighty powerful structions to man's best frind: "Don't bite thar hand that feeds ya." I reckon we might not sink our teeth into our benevolent Father's hand, but we shar kin growl when we don't think he is quick nough to fill our dish. Put on a happy face; things are lookin up!

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14 NIV)." Yes sir, I have a choice; I kin set my sites in a wayward direction or heavenward where God beckons me. (Colossians 3:1-2)

He might diagnose me with an advanced stage condition of "lazy eye." Sure don't want that to happen, best I begin right away to look up and catch a glimpse of the Lord's glory. He's a preparin a fer better place for me a way up yonder. I kin be heavenly minded and still walk the sod while plantin' seed down here!
