Atta Boy
by PamFord Davis

Have you given away any "Atta-boys" or "Atta-girls" lately? The popular trend is really catching on; I hope this is not merely one of those fads that fizzle out when people quickly lose interest. Atta's are like hugs; the more we give away, the more God sends them our way. We do need to be alert to dangers. As God's children, we must be wary of excessive flattery.

"Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets. But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you (Luke 6:26-27 NRS)." People will not always praise my efforts, but if I love those who mistreat me, I hear the Spirit's "Atta-girl!"
