...but you.

...BUT YOU
A young man, several centuries ago,was a slave serving his master faithfuly. His master committed all that he had into his hand with only one exception, his wife.
As time went on,the woman approached the young man with a dangerous gift wraped in "Lie with me." The fellow replied,
"There is no one greater in this house than I,nor has he kept back anything from me BUT YOU(capitals mine),because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" Genesis 39:9
That was Joseph's response to wrongdoings(sins). This "...but you" rule has been existing since the day the first man was created. In the garden of Eden, man was free "to eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;BUT OF(capitals mine) the tree which is in the midst of the garden,..." Genesis 3:2-3
However, unlike Joseph,"the woman(Eve) saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate.
She also gave to her husband with her,and he ate."verse 6
These are two stories of how different people dealt with the "...but you" rules or the accursed things they lived with.In either case, which response is good? Which one will you prefer to follow? Before you make up your mind, read the end results of the two:
The first,"Then Pharaoh said to Joseph,"Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word..." ' Gen.41:39-40.That is promotion.
The second,"Therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken." Gen.3:23.This is demotion.
Therefore, out of promotion or demotion, choose one.I advise that you choose promotion although it may not come cheaply, pay the price and get it.
In your day to day living,do you respond to "the accursed things",the exceptions, with "How can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" What are they, you may ask? They are all the works of the flesh and are evident: "adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, rivelries, and the like..."Galatians5:19-21
Never consider their being "good for food;pleasant to the eyes, desirable to make one wise" because to "eat" any of them is death.
However,if you have been involved, the most important question you must ask now is "What must I do to be saved?" The answer is very simple:"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."Acts 16:30-31
This is because "as many as received Him,to them He gave the right to become children of God,to those who believe in His name.John 1:12
Sins,or wrongdoings may look appealing,it brings death;so flee!
