No Squatters Rights
by PamFord Davis

Bird watchers never tire of watching birds eating seed from feeders, splashing in birdbaths, or darting in and out of birdhouses. Birds provide hours of entertainment, as homeowners take a front row seat, on a porch, patio or in a back yard swing. Houses for them become center stage props, as they flutter in and out to prepare a nest, or tend to their young. God's colorful creatures are happy homemakers.

"Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, 'Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.' And Jesus said to him, 'Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head (Luke 9:57-58 NKJ)." His first earthly home was a borrowed stall; His last was a borrowed tomb. Jesus does not invade our lives, as squatters in days of the Wild West. He waits, until we offer Him our hearts.
