Christianity is no Cakewalk
by PamFord Davis Don't be fooled; following Christ is not easy. He never promised a life of ease, or that we could do as we please. He said to take up our cross daily; it is imperative. It is only as we die to self, that we are free, to abide in Him. Jesus did not imply stress free days; instead, he alerted us to troubles ahead. He knew his disciples would flee when times got tough. (John 16:31-32) "I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world (John 16:33 ERV)!" Christianity is no cakewalk; his path leads to Calvary; yet, abundant life follows!
