God shows us, then we follow him
by Michael Hume

Jesus said "The Son can do nothing by himself, he can only do what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." John 5:19

"The Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7

Both verses above say the same thing. God shows us what He is doing. He sees things well in advance. Years, decades, centuries, and to the end where there is no end. As we follow after God doing the things He's shown us we walk with Him and our lives are blessed and fulfilled.

"The revelation awaits an appointed time:it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it: it will certainly come and will not delay." Habukkuk 2:3

"Abraham did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised." Romans 4:20,21

The two verses above speak of things some way off. When He shows us things some time away, months, a year, few years or many, we wait, reminding ourselves of the vision God gave. We also give glory to God and praise which keeps us hopeful and our faith alive.

God is absolutely truthful, never lies, and is completely honest. When He says something He brings it to pass in the right time.
