Courage To Call Home

Courage to Call Home

Tired, weary, lost and alone,
No place to rest, no place to call home.
Another day passes me by.
What becomes of losers such as I?

Far away from the ones I love.
Crying and praying to heaven above.
Estranged from all those I'm closest to.
Ashamed and lonely, what can I do?

I call on my maker, He answers me,
"Let go and let God and you will see
Healings begin with the dawn's new light,
Confess you sins and rest tonight"

Lord, have mercy on this shattered soul,
Sins a million and losing control.
Wandering this world, place to place,
Trying to outrun the Devil's pace

Dear Jesus what can you do with me?
Loose these chains and set me free.
Being held captive in my mind.
Forgive me Lord, please be kind

Feeling the courage to come after all
I walk to a phone and make the call
"Can I come home, and make a new start?
I love you all of you with all of my heart."

On the backseat of the greyhound bus,
Anticipating greeting the family I love.
God speaks to me in a still small voice
"Your soul is renewed; you've made the right choice."

Oh what a glorious feeling takes hold,
My loved one's hugs are worth more than gold.
Thank you, Jesus for sending me home,
You healed my heart and I no longer roam
