Ocean Feast
by lynn gipson

Blankets spread on soft rippled sand,
Castles eroding away where they stand,
Baskets of goodies, coolers for thirst,
Waves lapping ashore in timely bursts!

Glorious sunlight---lazy skies of blue,
A child's delight plays melodious tunes.
Dogs scurry in haste to catch a thrown Frisbee,
Brave sailors on surf boards head out to sea.

Mysterious Ocean for miles and miles,
Rhythmic motion calming and mild,
Being at one with God's creation,
Brings a soul to quiet elation!

God lends this paradise for all to take part,
Stunning our minds and easing our hearts,
We wonder in awe at His vast sea of hues,
A blending of magnificent greens and blues.

As we say grace, deep thoughts fill our minds,
Grateful for wondrous times of this kind,
At one with our maker as the tide rolls in,
We know at once we are blessed twice again!

Hot dogs, cold drinks, popcorn and candy,
Devoured by all, even while a tad sandy,
Time to relax beneath a blue striped shade,
One more swim now, the sky's getting late.

Finally we pack up and say goodbye,
To creation around us, "oh my" what a sight!
God built this scene for reflection and peace,
Thank you Dear Lord, for this Ocean feast!
